BlueDiamond is a new generation access control platform. It offers multi-technology readers, a feature-rich mobile app, and support for both physical and mobile credentials to allow for a seamless transition to the BlueDiamond platform.
The BlueDiamond readers are among the most versatile access control readers in the market, easily integrating with existing infrastructure and using open standards for authentication. They are vendor-neutral, platform-agnostic, and support common output protocols such as supervised F/2F (SF/2F), Wiegand, OSDPTM, and OSDP V2. When used with LenelS2 OnGuard® and NetBoxTM access control systems, users can conveniently manage mobile credentials through a single system.
The BlueDiamond readers also support a wide range of smart cards including HID® iCLASS®, MIFARE®, and DESFire® EV1 and EV2 in addition to standard proximity cards, providing a smooth migration path from less secure card technologies to the more secure open standard DESFire EV2 and BlueDiamond credentials. With mobile device-compatible versions and multi-tech BlueDiamond readers, organizations can achieve increased security at their own pace. For organizations that are not yet ready for mobile authentication but want the option to add it in the future, the mobile device-compatible BlueDiamond readers provide flexibility without the need for hardware replacement or addition. These readers are ready for mobile authentication when the organization is.

The versatility of BlueDiamond multi-tech readers allows for a smooth migration. The readers can meet current needs while also preparing for the future. They support both physical and mobile credentials and can easily be updated at the organization’s own pace and budget. BlueDiamond readers offer increased security by using the industry open standard, DESFire EV2 credentials, and BlueDiamond mobile credentials with 128-bit AES encryption.
Mobile technology
The BlueDiamondTM mobile app provides an alternative solution to plastic badges, offering convenience without compromising safety. Available on both iOS\’ae and Android\’ae, the app has been designed to allow for touchless, efficient, and simple authentication.
The BlueDiamond mobile app and authentication data provide touchless access, allowing building users to eliminate a significant number of touchpoints by transforming smartphones into secure access control devices. Mobile credential options using low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 and RFID include quick detection of nearby door readers, display of reader names when within range of doors, and a quick unlock option activated with a single touch for access. The “Favorites” feature generates a notification for the user when frequently used readers are within range, allowing them to quickly open doors. The ability to use “voice command shortcuts” has also been added, allowing the user to simply speak a command to open a door or activate the Pathways feature, for example: “Hey Siri, open the technical door.”

Convenience Without Compromising Security
The BlueDiamond mobile app delivers a smart alternative to plastic badges, offering convenience without compromising security. Available on both iOS and Android platforms, the app is designed to provide a touchless, efficient, and effortless credential experience. In addition to the app’s feature-rich capabilities within Lenel’s OnGuard or NetBox access control systems, the BlueDiamond platform framework is also available to embed into an organization’s current mobile application. Lenel provides assistance and the framework at no additional cost.
Hassle-free access
The Pathways feature allows users to preload frequently used doors on a frequently traveled route. The app automatically sends authentication data to the reader when within range. Once configured, the user does not need to interact with the app.
The Phone as a Badge (PhaaB) feature allows users to turn their smartphone into a virtual badge by simply launching the app and tapping a button to transmit their credentials to a reader. This eliminates the need to carry a separate badge. In addition, the BlueDiamond mobile app includes an “Emergency Override” feature that allows authorized users to quickly unlock doors in the event of an emergency.
The BlueDiamond platform
The BlueDiamond platform offers next-generation access control, including feature-rich readers, a mobile app, and mobile credentials. All BlueDiamond products are connected through the BlueDiamond cloud server. The platform closely integrates with LenelS2 OnGuard\’ae and NetBox\’ae access control systems, allowing for the issuance and management of mobile authentication data with a single click.
In addition to the rich features of the app within the OnGuard and NetBox access control systems, it is possible to embed the BlueDiamond platform in the organization’s existing mobile app.
